Trainee Clinician

CCC continues to encourage applications from bilingual (Spanish/English) trainee clinicians.

Thank you for your interest in working with the Community Counseling Center in the County of San Luis Obispo, California. Our educational program is open to clinicians training in programs for Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling. Currently NOT accepting Clinical Social Work trainees/interns (pre-graduate level social work clinicians).

We provide a wide array of mental health services for diverse members of our community in a variety of settings including community clinician and local school K-12 campuses..

We provide clinical supervision, training, and educational opportunities. Additionally administrative and billing support needed to effectively serve our clients and support our providers.

We do require most clinical hours to be done in person in our office but there is opportunity to do some remote work.

We have opportunities for both volunteer and paid positions with an hourly pay range between $17 to $20 depending on experience and program assignment (bilingual stipend available). Bilingual and bicultural clinicians are especially encouraged to apply.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to identify mental health treatment needs and make treatment recommendations.
  • Provide counseling services to address mild to moderate mental health symptoms and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate mental health documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes consistent with CCC standards.
  • Provide face to face direct mental health services and utilize Telehealth as appropriate to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate with other mental health providers to ensure coordination of care for our clients.
  • Engage in professional development to provide best practices in the field.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Master’s degree Program in Psychology
  • Live in the County of San Luis Obispo County or North Santa Barbara County
