The Sliding Scale Program is our core program. It offers short-term, low-cost, professional counseling for individuals, couples, and families who would not otherwise be able to afford it. Most CCC Sliding Scale clients have no insurance, or low to moderate income.
The CenCal Program is insurance based. To apply to the CenCal program you must be active on CenCal Health Insurance. This program offers a possibility of long-term counseling if in scope of services and if medically indicated. CenCal offers counseling for individuals, couples, and families.
The Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMAD) Program is based on the perinatal period.(Perinatal: relating to the time, usually before and after birth of a child) This is low to no cost short term counseling services for mothers, fathers or couples in the perinatal phase. Our clinicians on this program are specifically trained to work with clients in the perinatal phase. In our PMAD program a client would be eligible for services up to 5 yrs after childbirth. We partner with Pregnancy and Parenting Support and First 5 of SLO County to be able to provide these services.
The School Based Program is on local K-12 school campuses. We partner with local school districts to be able to provide services on campus for local students. This school year we have partnered with San Luis Coastal Unified School District (SLCUSD) and Lucia Mar Unified School District (LMUSD).
Community Counseling Center provides outpatient therapy services for individuals, couples, and families. Our clinicians see children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mild to moderate mental health symptoms that can be helped by short-term counseling and support (therapy services are typically provided once a week for a 50-minute session.) Some examples are individuals with anxiety, depression, adjustment or developmental issues, self-esteem issues, gender identity related issues, parent-child relational issues, interpersonal conflict, and moderate post-traumatic stress.
CCC clinicians do not have expertise in the treatment of substance abuse or addiction, acute or chronic eating disorders, domestic violence related matters, sexual abuse, child custody, or court related matters and therefore will refer you to alternative agencies as appropriate and available.
No one is denied services based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, economic status, or physical or mental disability.
For individuals with acute or chronic severe mental illness or who are currently in a mental health crisis, please contact the County’s Behavioral Health Department, which provides intensive mental health services, psychiatry, and urgent or crisis mental health services: (800) 838-1381.
Sliding Scale Program: We charge a per-session fee that is based on your average monthly income after taxes. That fee is negotiable, and we never turn away anyone based on ability to pay.
CenCal Program: CCC provides mental health services for CenCal members with mild to moderate mental health symptoms. CenCal Health will cover mental health services as long as the member is active on CenCal Health. Active CenCal members will not be charged any fees.
Private Insurance: Individuals with private insurance are encouraged to contact their insurance for a list of therapist provider options. You can also use the Therapist Finder on the Psychology Today website: Find Therapists and Psychologists in California - Psychology If you are unable to find a therapist through your insurance you can contact us to see if you're eligible for our Sliding Scale Program.

The clinicians at Community Counseling Center are qualified graduate students, post-graduate professionals (both under licensed supervision), or state-licensed clinicians.
El Programa CenCal se basa en un seguro médico. Para solicitarlo, debe tener un seguro médico activo. Este programa ofrece la posibilidad de recibir terapia a largo plazo si está dentro del alcance de los servicios y si existe indicación médica. CenCal ofrece terapia individual, de pareja y familiar.
El Programa de Trastorno de Ansiedad y Estado de Ánimo Perinatal (PMAD) se basa en el período perinatal. (Perinatal: relacionado con el período, generalmente antes y después del nacimiento de un hijo). Se trata de servicios de consejería a corto plazo, de bajo costo o gratuitos, para madres, padres o parejas en la fase perinatal. Nuestros profesionales clínicos en este programa están capacitados específicamente para trabajar con clientes en la fase perinatal. En nuestro programa PMAD, un cliente puede recibir servicios hasta 5 años después del parto. Nos asociamos con Apoyo para el Embarazo y la Crianza y First 5 del Condado de SLO para brindar estos servicios.
